End of the year round up 2012
2012 has been a year of change at CSO. This year I started a new job as CAD manager at Halstock, moved house and was Interviewed by CADalyst magazine and Autodesk Care!
Way back in 2010 I wrote that I was receiving 200 page views a day. I’m proud to say that in the lead up to Christmas last year, this peaked at 1927 page views in a single day :D thanks very much to everyone who has visited CadSetterOut.com and Liked, tweeted, plus’d or otherwise shared the posts.
This years highlights
Once again I was extremely pleased to be asked to write for AUGIworld (The truth about sharing Inventor data) and speak at BIMshow live. I helped Curt Moreno with this Video tip for Autodesk Inventor, contributed this post on AutoCAD macro’s to CADnotes.com and had a cartoon featured on Engineer Vs Designer. I was even able to help Shaan Hurley out with a guest post for his Blog while he was away in Africa.
This year has held many firsts for me. I got my first article published in a proper print magazine (Inventor 2013 reviewed for D3D magazine) and I spoke at Autodesk University. I was asked to join the Autodesk Elite (I met Buzz Cross and Uncle Carl Bass in the process), and was honoured to receive the Autodesk Manufacturing community award (I’m not worthy!).
Thanks to all of you for your support, it means a lot to me.

So what’s coming up in 2013?
With my change of job role, I suspect that I will be inspired to write more posts about managing the CAD department. I hope to keep writing on AutoCAD and Inventor, along with a good lump of content on creating great drawings, no matter what software you are using.
I also have four more CAD books sat here just waiting for me to review them and give them away – more on that soon.
I am really looking forward to D3D live 1013, the release of Fusion360 and am I am crossing my fingers that I get asked to speak at AU2013!
Good luck, best wishes and keep on drawing!
Paul
